This page explains what information Mossy Button Woods collects, where it goes, and how you can take it back. We've kept it short and plain.
The short version
- This website doesn't automatically collect personal information.
- Our publishing tool reads data from our own Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts. That data stays on our computer.
- We don't sell it, share it or use it for advertising.
- You can revoke access at any time, and ask us to delete data by email.
1. Who we are
Mossy Button Woods ("MBW", "we", "us") is a creator brand. We run this website at MossyButtonWoods.com and our Facebook Page, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts. You can reach us at mossybuttonwoods@gmail.com.
2. This website
You don't need an account to visit this site, and we don't ask you for personal information. We don't use cookies, analytics or tracking scripts. Photos and images on our posts are hosted at media.MossyButtonWoods.com. They are public artwork, not information about visitors.
Our site and our image hosting are provided by Cloudflare, which may keep standard request logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure. We don't use them to track you.
If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write, and we use it only to reply.
3. Our publishing tool
MBW uses its own publishing tool, called Cadence, to plan, schedule and publish posts to our own Facebook Page, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube accounts, and to view analytics for them.
- It runs on MBW's own computer and connects only MBW's own accounts.
- It isn't offered to the public. There is no sign-up, and nothing is sold.
- It contacts only the official services of Google (YouTube), Meta and TikTok.
4. What we read from each platform
From each of the platforms below, the tool reads the following for MBW's own accounts:
- account name and ID;
- the posts MBW publishes;
- counts of likes, comments, shares and views (we read comment counts, not the text of comments or who wrote them);
- post and account analytics, including follower totals and aggregate audience figures, such as the countries and cities where a Page's followers are located. We do not receive the identities of individual followers.
YouTube (Google)
Data from MBW's YouTube channel, as listed above. Permissions we ask for:
- upload videos [youtube.upload];
- manage and update our own videos, for example to reschedule one or make it private [youtube.force-ssl];
- view our YouTube account [youtube.readonly];
- view our YouTube Analytics reports [yt-analytics.readonly].
Facebook and Instagram (Meta)
Data from MBW's Facebook Page and Instagram account, as listed above. Permissions we ask for:
- list the Pages we manage [pages_show_list];
- read our Page's engagement [pages_read_engagement];
- publish to our Page [pages_manage_posts];
- read our Page and Instagram insights [read_insights, instagram_manage_insights];
- access our linked business assets [business_management];
- read our Instagram account's basic info [instagram_basic];
- publish to our Instagram account [instagram_content_publish].
TikTok
Data from MBW's TikTok account, as listed above. Permissions we ask for:
- basic profile info [user.info.basic];
- profile details [user.info.profile];
- account statistics [user.info.stats];
- publish our videos [video.publish];
- list our videos [video.list].
5. Where it's stored
The app runs on MBW's own computer. Posts, media and analytics are stored on that computer. Login tokens are kept in the computer's secure credential store.
MBW doesn't run a server that collects, stores or shares this data.
6. Not sold, not shared
We don't sell this data, share it with third parties or use it for advertising.
7. Google user data
MBW's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
8. How long we keep it
Data stays on MBW's computer until we remove it. Disconnecting an account ends the app's access to that account and removes its login tokens, but posts and analytics already stored on our computer stay there until we delete them. We delete stored data when you ask us to. Email mossybuttonwoods@gmail.com.
9. Revoking access
You can remove the app's access in each platform's own settings at any time:
- Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Facebook: Settings & privacy, Settings, Business integrations
- Instagram: Settings, Apps and websites
- TikTok: in the app, Settings and privacy, Security & permissions, Apps and services (TikTok settings)
Menu names can change. Our Data Deletion page walks through the steps.
10. Asking us to delete data
Email mossybuttonwoods@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion request". The full steps are on our Data Deletion page.
11. Children
This website doesn't automatically collect personal information from anyone, including children. Our publishing tool isn't used by the public.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
